East African Organic Products Standard
What is it?
The East African Organic Products Standard (EAOPS), known regionally as Kilimo Hai, verifies that produce is grown and handled according to organic standards without prohibited synthetic inputs.
Who needs it?
Farms, processors and traders producing or handling organic crops for the East African regional market, delivered in partnership with the Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN).
Why certify?
Certification allows produce to be marketed and sold as organic within the region, meeting buyer and regulatory requirements in target markets.

We review your application and agree audit scope, timing and cost.

Audit
An independent auditor assesses your site or system against the standard.

Corrective action
Any nonconformities identified are closed out before a decision is made.

Certification decision
An independent reviewer, separate from the audit team, makes the decision.

Maintain certification
Surveillance audits keep your certificate valid on an ongoing basis.
